I’d watched a few videos about mending books, but I still wasn’t sure if I could actually do it. A few days ago at the library, I finally got the chance to learn. I watched carefully, took my time, and used the right tools to repair the books. I focused on being precise, especially when measuring out the special repair tape.

I found it calming to fix the corners of the books—a complete contrast to making book cover protectors. With covers, I had to be extra exact with measurements and use a paper cutter to line everything up perfectly with the book.

It definitely took me a while, but with more time (and patience) I can already see myself improving—lol, still a work in progress though. Altogether, I mended eight books and covered one, with guidance from my coworker. She’s an excellent instructor and had a lot of patience with me.

What I love most is working in an environment where I feel safe, valued, and appreciated—not just for the work I do, but for who I am.
